I got in the car today on my way home from work, and looked desperately around for a hat or cap. Spied a tennis cap in the back seat. Perfect. Wig off. Hat on. Thank you God! My poor head was itching like crazy and I just couldn't wait to get home to take off the wig.
This got me thinking about what sucks about being bald, which then got me thinking about what is good about being bald.
PROS:
*No need to buy Shampoo/Conditioner/hair spray
*No time wasted to fix hair
*You can rub your head for luck whenever you want
*You can scare people at will
*No falling hairs on dark tops
*Don't have to worry about messing up hair when putting on or taking off top
*Don't have to worry about touching up roots
*Can go from long hair to short hair and back in a day
CONS
*Wigs cause head to itch like crazy
*Rash,itch,scratch
*head feels cold and wet all the time, except when covered and it itches
*Scares self when catching site of self unexpectedly in the mirror(keep thinking some bald man is in the house!)
*Ears appear much larger without hair
Well, see there. There are more positives to being bald then there are cons. I should be so happy. I guess I need to work on that.

I think you should get a hot little pink bob for when you go out for the evening. Or blue! I honestly think you'd make anything look cute.
You made me laugh when you wrote about scaring yourself when you catch sight of yourself unexpectedly in a mirror. That sounds so much like something I would do!
Just think of all the money you are going to save on hair products!
I'm kinda liking the idea of a cute little pink bob as well...

Mama Zen--I do it all the time, I scare myself half to death and then start laughing!
Susan--I know I keep thinking I deserve some shopping trip, like to Pier One and get something fun with all the money I've saved! Plus I saved tons on gas when I couldn't drive for 6 weeks!

Yeah, the roots are a definitely plus. Maybe you could get a tattoo on your head...you know, a lotus garden or something. LOL!
It's not fun resembling a character from Star Trek, even if it's practical. I hope your hair grows back thick and lush and that the radioactive chemo mutates your follicles so you never ever get a gray hair again.
I can't wait until it's short and you can spike it. That will be way cool.

I HAVE put a Peace Sign tattoo, a fairy and a happy face tattoo, on my head. I change it out each week!
Vgrrrl-I can't wait to have anything at all and have been thinking of dying whatever comes back pink or purple! I love the no gray mutations! One could only hope!
